As wildfire season persists and with so little rainfall so far this summer, two significant fires are burning in the Shelburne County and Upper Tantallon-Hammonds Plains areas of Halifax Regional Municipality. Travel to these areas is not recommended at this time but if you do plan to travel to these areas, please keep a close monitor on the situation and stay out of the evacuation areas. Be aware of road closures and follow the direction of emergency management officials.
